“When two circles intersect, the Venn diagram as we know it today creates an almond like shape in the center. this is one of the most sacred shapes in the history of ancient religion. the two circles represent the two worlds, heaven and earth or spirit and body, in order for us to move between the two realms we need a portal. this portal is the almond like shape called Vesica picses. IN Christian iconography the vesica is the background on which mother mary or Jesus is represented because they are considered the portal between the two realms, The guide that lights the path to Soul’s ascension. Buddha here is also a saint or a sage or a messenger or prophet who has been a portal for millions over millennia through his guidance and divinely inspired wisdom. Rumi says the light is the same only the lamps are different. Buddha here is shown under the bodhi Tree where he is said to have experienced enlightenment. The lotus flower is also significant because much like spiritual awakening where trials and tribulations lead to the ripening of the soul into a beautiful matured noble being, the lotusflower also reveals its beauty in the middle of the muddy pond.
The repeated inscription the repetition of any sacred word in mysticism is called a mantra or zikr in arabic, Mantra comes from the Sanskrit words mun and tra. mun comes from manas which means the mind and tra manas an instrument, mantra therefore means an instrument to go beyond the mind to the higher consciousness or heart.”
